Comment: I have been to several veterinarians in my life and my two experiences with Dr. Boorstin and his associate Michael have been beyond 5 star. A caring bedside manner coupled with knowledge is a winning formula for us to return time and time again. Comment: The entire staff is top notch. Dr. Boorstin is truly amazing. He took his time to explain everything in detail during the echocardiogram and he is very thorough. He answered all of our questions and made sure we understood everything that was discussed. The treatment plan was fully explained as to why it’s best for Toby. I appreciated the clinical summary of visit that was sent same day via email. The entire process from scheduling the appointment to the end was so efficient and professional.Thank you so much Dr. Boorstin and the excellent support staff. After this appointment I feel we are doing the best we can for Toby and that is comforting. Appreciate you all.

Comment: Our almost 14 year old dog Luna developed breathing issues after being put on fluids for being dehydrated from appetite loss from a suspected hepatitis. Our family vet first suspected that the breathing issues are coming from fluid overload as Luna was on IV fluids for 24 hours and she was given a diuretic which didn’t fix the issue. We then took her to Dr. Boorstin and his team at CVCA to rule out heart disease. We are grateful that we got an appointment the next day as Luna was breathing super fast and with quite a big effort. There was no waiting time when we arrived. Dr. Boorstin did an echo of Luna’s heart and also her lungs and found a small amount of liquid in her chest cavity. He was super thorough and explained each step and findings in a calm, patient and easy to understand way. Fortunately Luna’s heart was great for a dog of her age, however her lungs looked bad and Dr. Boorstin told us directly and honest that it’s not a good diagnosis. We had to let Luna go the next day and found out she had an infiltrated form of liver cancer that had spread into her lungs. We appreciated the direct, but also compassionate diagnosis. Although it wasn’t the best outcome for Luna and us, we cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Boorstin and his team.

Comment: I brought my cat to be seen by Dr. Boorstin after her PCP heard a heart murmur and a snap BNP test was positive. As of 2/2024, CVCA did not have a long waitlist, and I was relieved that my cat could be seen one week from the time I called.This is a well-run practice. The office and exam areas are clean and new. I am glad I was able to be present in the room while my cat received the EKG and Echo. Dr. Boorstin has wonderful bedside manner and answered all my questions thoroughly. Using a heart diagram, he diligently explained his findings, and made sure to I understood his assessment and plan for my cat. Procedures can be expensive, but due to the care, expertise, and communication of Dr. Boorstin and CVCA, I left the appointment feeling uplifted.I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Boorstin and CVCA to anyone looking for a pet cardiologist.

Comment: This place is amazing! Its bad enough we find ourselves needing to bring out pets here so it was such a weight lifted having the amazing staff and doctor provide such excellent treatment! While it wasnt the greatest news for my Ollie, I left there feeling confident that I had been given all of my options and the best care possible. Thank you all!

Well worth the drive and time. Recommending them to everyone. Comment: Our almost 15 old cat had some blood work that indicated he could be having heart issues. Our primary care vet (who is also great, Austin Urban Vet) recommended CVCA. We were able to get an appointment within a couple of days and the team did a wonderful job. Knew how to handle our boy to minimize his stress, included us in all the work they did, answered every question, and just provided a welcoming and comforting environment. Recommend them 150%.

Comment: My mixed breed 14-year-old dog Boomer and I visited the Cary, NC, location yesterday so we could check on Boomers heart. She received tender care during an ultrasound. Our technician was so kind and communicative. And I was much relieved to know the status of Boomers heart murmur. The doctor explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood. This information will guide Boomers care in the year ahead. I already have a full report and so does her regular vet. Thank you, CVCA.

Comment: Was very worried about my dog after my vet had told me he had Congestive Heart Failure. I left a message about scheduling an appointment at CVCA as soon as possible. I was called back within 30 minutes. The callback helped me schedule an appointment, emailed a form to fill prior to visit as well as told me estimated costs for the procedures. Once I arrived at the facility (since I had filled out form in email prior to appointment) I was quickly seen by Dr. Sloane Everett. After getting into the exam room, her staff quickly came to confirm the information on the form that I had filled out, and add anything else that I needed to let the Dr. know. Dr. Sloane Everett and her staff were very professional when handling my dog. (Usually my dog growls and trys to nip so he needs to be a little sedated, but this was not the case. Dr. Sloane Everett and her staff were very kind and let my dog know everything was ok.) I was allowed to be in the room for the whole procedure everything was explained in great detail. (Blood Pressure, and the Echocardiogram) I got to see my dogs heart on the Echocardiogram, Dr. Sloane Everett went through each chamber of the heart on the screen and explained what we were looking for. After the Echocardiogram was finished Dr. Sloane Everett informed me that my dog DID NOT HAVE CHF (which was a huge relief to me) and that it was most likely due to airway or lung disease. She then informed me on my next steps to take to treat my dog. I am very relieved and thankful for the accurate and quick diagnosis of my dog. The Facility is very clean, and the front lobby staff is kind as well. If you have a concern about your pets heart I definitely recommend bringing your pet here for peace of mind and accurate results. (Again, Thank you very much!!!)

Comment: Extremely impressed by Dr. Boorstin and team at this practice. I live in North County San Diego where the VCA and mobile cardiologist are all booked out 4-6 months. I was told about the new CVCA in San Juan Capistrano and they had appointments available within a few days!We had a consultation, echocardiogram, blood pressure, and ECG all within 30 minutes and under $1000! When I arrived for my appointment at 1 PM, we were immediately roomed and introduced to Dr. Boorstin - no wait at all!The RVT who was holding my dog still for the echo was so gentle and kind. Dr. Boorstin explained the entire process as he went through the echocardiogram. He took time to use visuals to demonstrate exactly what has happening on echo on a drawing of the heart. He was thorough and paused frequently to ask if I had any questions.I have seldom encountered a vet specialist who is as thorough and thoughtful as Dr. Boorstin. It was clear he had carefully read through my dogs registration form and prior medical records.So lucky to have found this practice - I highly recommend this practice to folks who have pets with heart disease.

Comment: We took our pup in for an echo to follow up on a small congenital heart defect and I was so impressed by the entire experience. Michael the tech was efficient and kind as he was tasked with holding a squirmy patient. Dr Boorstin was thorough, extremely knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner. He explained the findings in depth and made me very confident in his expertise.The office itself was very friendly, efficient and made the whole experience a breeze!

Comment: We are full of gratitude for the care our Whitney Woo received. They were gentle and kind throughout the whole procedure. I knew we were in good hands. Although the diagnosis is not what we had been hoping for, the caring staff went above and beyond to make sure he was seen immediately to diagnose the cancer that was thought to have been discovered. I even received a follow up call the next day. It filled my heart to know that they cared so much for the kitty that brought us so much joy. Thank you for all that you did.

Comment: The whole staff was so sweet to my dog. We went in for an ultrasound because of concerning blood work, and the doctor was very knowledgeable. Luckily my pup has a healthy heart, so we will be back in a year for a check up. Loved this place & Toby had a great experience!

Comment: I brought my 17yo cat in for an echo. Scheduling and patient forms were easy and quick. The assistant and doctor listened to my concerns and were clear about what I could expect from the visit. I appreciate that I was able to be with my cat during the procedure. They were able to send clearance for my cats dental appointment the very next day. This is a great practice with caring people and they have definitely earned my 5 star review.
