Comment: Ortega Animal Care Center is my dogs second home. I never worry when my Berner is boarded during times of taken extended vacations. The staff is friendly and supportive of helping Oreo who is now 13 and needs extra TLC. Gia is fantastic groomer and always gives Oreo the best trim. Dr. B and vet techs always are gentle when giving my pup medicine.

Comment: My two very anxious dogs just spent a week at Ortega Animal Care Center for the first time. The staff was super helpful and kind, and made my dogs feel right at home. When I went to pick them up the staff told me all about their stay, gave me printed pictures, and the dogs were happy and healthy, and I know this may sound silly, but they didn’t smell bad and seem dirty like my dogs have been when picking them up from boarding at other places in the past. We will definitely be using this fantastic place in the future.

Comment: Very nice and friendly staff. The office was peaceful and comfortable for my dog. The doctor and vet techs were very nice and comforting to Buddy. He wanted to go say hi to everyone. Even though we were there for a little sick buddy it was still a very great experience. I will definitely be bringing my dog back.

Comment: Went to have a newly adopted Kitten spayed. Staff was extremely helpful and thorough with services that would be completed. After care was carefully explained and Staff answered all my questions. Ms. Shamrock has a check up on Saturday the 19th! Excited to have 2nd visit with same Doctor(that completed surgery) to confirm healing process and progress. Great Pet Care Center for all your animal needs.

Comment: I tried to get a duplicate script for my dogs food that Chewy Lost. I just got off the phone with the female vet. I am so angry. The female vet got on the phone telling me that they would charge me for a duplicate. I balked at the charge and she came back at me saying it costs her money for the scripts. I said to her that the cost is absorbed in to the practice. Before she hung up on me she said that I can go somewhere else!!!! The nerve. All this place cares about is the money they can make especially when it comes to rewriting a script that will take only 2 seconds!!!!!

Comment: Dr. Fluent and Dr. Brehmer are both amazing and super knowledgeable. My dogs got a super rare parasite that was never heard of and did all the research they could to find out about the parasite. My chihuahua also had a tumer in her spleen and save her life by doing an emergency surgery. They go above and beyond to listen and care about my fur babies.

Comment: I would like to give this place a 5, but I cant. Two years ago, Dr. Fluent did not err on the side of caution when I brought my chihuahua in when she couldnt stand on her back legs. The doc said it was probably an adverse reaction to pain meds my dog had been prescribed earlier that day. The next morning, my little dog still could not use her back legs, so I brought her in. Dr. Brehmer immediately sent me to a specialist. Thank goodness he knows what hes doing. As it turns out, my girl ruptured a disc and time makes all the difference. Had Dr. Fluent sent us to the specialist the day before, the chances of my girl walking again would have increased tremendously. Unfortunately, the delay pretty much guaranteed permanent paralysis. $9,000 later, and I have a paralyzed chihuahua. I still take my pups here, but I request NOT to see Dr. Fluent. Im sure shes okay for others, but I lost my confidence in her 100%!

Comment: This place is top notch!!! During Covid they would come out and get your animal and made them and you feel safe, I took my new kitty Willow that I adopted in to get spayed and I wasnt sure if her incision was healing correctly, because she had a little bump where they made the incision. So I called them to check in, they gave me a number to take a picture and video of the bump and I sent it to the doctor so I didnt have to come back in and she was just fine! It saved me money, time and and stress on my kitty, the advice they gave me was perfect😁 my kitty was just fine.💗 Exceptional service, I will continue to take my cat there as I adopted her from the Ark of SJ and wasnt quite sure what doctor I was going to use, but Ortega animal clinic will be her place from now on! The staff was very caring too. A+

Comment: I waited for almost 2 hours & got close to no information about my dog’s status. I had to call in 3 times to ask about him and got no information. Also had my sister go in to have her puppy checked on & vaccinated & they gave her false information so they could charge more. This place is so poorly run & the female vet is not good at her job whatsoever.Also if you make an appt, make sure you come in 20 minutes late because that’ll probably be how long they take anyways. Horrible service would give 0 stars if I could

Comment: In my experience and opinion this veterinary, boarding and grooming services establishment does not offer quality veterinary or grooming services and offer little customer service. Additionally, they do not care about your pets or you, have an attitude and are dishonest. 1) We brought our dog in and they could not diagnose without running a lot of expensive tests. They routinely want to run many expensive tests. We took dog to another vet and he diagnosed immediately without all the tests. We took our cat in for an issue and after an expensive procedure, they could not fix. The other vet fixed after the same procedure. 2) I called in the other day and spoke to Katie at the front desk with a concern about the vet not giving or mentioning a vaccine that was overdue. She said it was a mistake and didn’t apologize or seem to care at all. Katie then told Michelle Beck, Director of Operations, that I was upset and cursed at Katie, which is a complete falsehood. Concerned but not upset and never cursed. When I told Michelle that, she said she heard me curse because she could hear the call from her office six feet away from the reception desk, even though it was not on speaker phone. These people are not honest or truthful. They simply don’t care and do not provide quality service or customer care. 3) When we took our dog for a bath and grooming, they gave her a haircut and not a bath. They said they made a mistake even though we asked and ordered a bath. They didn’t seem to care and didn’t apologize. Again, bad customer service, have an attitude, they don’t care, and not quality services. I and my pets and wife are so glad we have gone back to my old vet who is farther away but totally worth the drive-and they offer good service, are honest and care.

Comment: One stop shop is what Id call Ortega Animal Care Center. Our dog loves this place for daily playtime. The OACC also has boarding for all sizes of dogs and cats. We have left our Bernese mountain dog for extended stays and the staff is wonderful. Best of all there is someone taking care of animals 7 days a week. The vets are great!

Everybody was extremely nice, very helpful, and the visit was as easy as Ive ever experienced. Dr. Fluent addressed the issues we needed handled, offered great advice and recommendations, didnt try to upsell us... and No smoke and mirrors here. They took him same day and the process was very fast. I asked about the hotel options and prices in case we go out of town. They told me all about the hotel options. The first time our kitten was under weight we we couldnt get it. Then came in 2 more times via scheduled appointments and they didnt have shot in stock. One staff member got offended when we told her we wanted to talk with the Vet directly to ask a few questions.

Comment: This establishment IS NOT FIT TO CARE FOR ANIMALS.We have been taking our dog here for years to have him cared for while we would go out of town and we didnt mind paying the extra money for the hotel because we knew he was in good hands but after the management changed, this establishment has quickly moved in a downward spiral.After coming back from our last trip, we stopped by to pick up our dog to realize (for the first time in 8 years) he had picked up FLEAS. Not to mention our dog was also severely dehydrated. I had not seen him drink that many bowls of water right after another. He had been traumatized. And to think we paid premium for a suite so he would be more comfortable!We approached management with our concerns and they stated there was nothing they would do since we had signed the liability release. It seems they do not care for the animals they are supposedly tending to.They have lost a long-time customer and it wont be long until they will be out of business. If you care for your animal, think twice before dropping him/her off here. I hope nobody has to experience what this lackluster of an establishment has put me and my family through.
